EN: M.A. Cardona (Mallorca, 2000), studied cinema at CEF: School of Audiovisual Arts. He’s a filmmaker and also works as a technician in audiovisual media at the Balearic Islands Television. His first short film as a writer and director was ‘Close Away’ (2020). After different works as a screenwriter, including the award-winning ‘Prayers Of Soot’ (2022), M.A. Cardona presents his new work as a director and screenwriter, ‘お め で と う (Omedetō)’ (2024), a story shot between Japan and Spain. In this one, M.A. Cardona also plays the part of one of the two leads characters.

ES: M.A. Cardona (Mallorca, 2000), estudió cine en el CEF: Escuela de Artes Audiovisuales. Es Técnico en Audiovisuales en la Televisión Autonómica de las Islas Baleares y Cineasta. Su primer cortometraje como Director y Escritor fue ‘Cerca de lejos’ (2020). Tras algunos trabajos como guionista, entre ellos se halla la premiada ‘Oraciones De Hollín’ (2022), M.A. Cardona presenta su nuevo trabajo como Director y Guionista, ‘おめでとう (Omedetō)’ (2024), una obra rodada entre Japón y España. En esta, M.A. Cardona también interpreta a uno de los dos protagonistas.

ITA: Un giovane uomo intrappolato nel vortice della dipendenza e del chemsex attraverso incontri fugaci e notti infinite, la sua vita diventa un caleidoscopio di emozioni intense e decisioni pericolose.
Il suo amico Marcos cerca di intervenire direttamente, confrontandolo con la realtà delle sue azioni e le loro conseguenze. Altri amici scelgono di prendere le distanze, sentendosi incapaci di gestire il peso della situazione.
Xanadu è un termine usato per riferirsi a un luogo di lusso, mistero o esuberanza. Viene utilizzato nel mondo anglosassone per indicare luoghi immaginari o strutture di fantasia.

EN: In August 2022, he published his first book on this topic, after losing several friends due to this problem, who disappeared or moved away. It is a series of three books, aimed at anyone over 18, along with a documentary, which address slam and chemsex very explicitly.
From Zaragoza, he studied social work, a degree he resumed in Madrid. He arrived in the capital eager to start over, tired of abuse and harassment, and to fight for LGBTQ+ rights.
He decided to start this trilogy after observing from the outside, learning about himself, and delving into the world of chemsex.
He has collaborated on two projects with Mabel Lozano (filmmaker and anti-trafficking activist).
He always identifies with one phrase, a great one: “What is not talked about, does not exist.”

ES: En agosto de 2022, publicó su primer libro sobre este tema, tras perder a varios amigos debido a este problema, que desaparecieron o se mudaron. Se trata de una serie de tres libros, dirigidos a mayores de 18 años, junto con un documental, que abordan el slam y el chemsex de forma muy explícita.
Originario de Zaragoza, estudió Trabajo Social, carrera que retomó en Madrid. Llegó a la capital con ganas de empezar de cero, cansado del abuso y el acoso, y para luchar por los derechos LGBTQ+.
Decidió comenzar esta trilogía tras observar desde fuera, aprender sobre sí mismo y adentrarse en el mundo del chemsex.
Ha colaborado en dos proyectos con Mabel Lozano (cineasta y activista contra la trata).
Siempre se identifica con una frase, una gran frase: «Lo que no se habla, no existe».

ITA: Nell’agosto 2022 ha pubblicato il suo primo libro su questo argomento, dopo aver perso diversi amici a causa di questo problema, perché scomparsi o allontanati. Si tratta di una serie di tre libri, rivolti a tutti i maggiori di 18 anni, insieme a un documentario, che affrontano lo slam e il chemsex in modo molto esplicito.
Da Saragozza, ha studiato servizio sociale, una laurea che ha ripreso a Madrid. è arrivato nella capitale desiderosa di ricominciare, stanca degli abusi e delle molestie e di lottare per i diritti LGBTQ+.
Ha deciso di iniziare questa trilogia dopo aver osservato dall’esterno, formato se stesso e approfondito il mondo del chemsex.
Ha collaborato a due progetti con Mabel Lozano (regista e attivista contro la tratta).
