In Marseille, Nino and Fabio from the Essevesse dance company have known each other for 24 years. Their destiny has never ceased to bring them together and their friendship is expressed through dance. Together, they lead the Danses-en-Trans project. Sinossi:

Una sera, tornando a casa a Madrid, Ulises incontra David, una vecchia conoscenza che non riesce a dimenticare. Quando inevitabilmente ritornano alle vecchie dinamiche, lui si chiede se la loro relazione possa ancora avere un futuro.
“La solitudine, la difficoltà di esprimere i sentimenti, la mancanza di impegno… Ulises vive cieco pensando che David gli darà davvero una possibilità un giorno, una possibilità di sentirsi amato… Ma quest’uomo sta solo giocando con lui. E per me era importante che il personaggio principale fosse consapevole che le cose non cambieranno mai e che deve lasciarsi alle spalle quella relazione tossica che ha con David, il fuckboi”, è con queste parole che il regista da un quadro di ciò che vuole esprimere nel suo cortometraggio.
Il corto è stato selezionato per QUEENSTOWN QUEER FILM FESTIVAL (2023).

Carlos Jiménez Lucas è un giovane regista spagnolo nato a Madrid. Attualmente sta completando un master in regia cinematografica e produzione cinematografica presso la scuola EFTI. Fin da piccolo ha sempre mostrato interesse nel raccontare storie e, col passare del tempo, si è reso conto che quelle che lo affascinavano davvero erano quelle che si collegavano, in un modo o nell’altro, alle emozioni umane. Quelle storie che, si spera, pizzicheranno il cuore dello spettatore. Il suo primo lavoro, “VACÍO”, ha avuto un grande successo sulle piattaforme digitali. Con “DESPIDE A TU FUCKBOI”, prova a fare un altro passo nella sua carriera. Synopsis:

One evening, returning home to Madrid, Ulises meets David, an old acquaintance he cannot forget. When they inevitably return to their old dynamics, he wonders if their relationship still has a future.
“The loneliness, the difficulty in expressing feelings, the lack of commitment… Ulises lives blind thinking that David will really give him a chance one day, a chance to feel loved… But this man is just playing with him. And for me it was important that the main character was aware that things will never change and that he must leave behind that toxic relationship he has with David, the fuckboi”, it is with these words that the director gives a picture of what he wants to express in his short film.
The short was selected for QUEENSTOWN QUEER FILM FESTIVAL (2023).

Carlos Jiménez Lucas is a young Spanish director born in Madrid. He is currently completing a master’s degree in film directing and film production at the EFTI school. From an early age he always showed an interest in telling stories and, as time passed, he realized that the ones that really fascinated him were those that were connected, in one way or another, to human emotions. Those stories that will hopefully tug at the viewer’s heart. His first work, “VACÍO”, had great success on digital platforms. With “DESPIDE A TU FUCKBOI”, he tries to take another step in his career. Nascita e Trasformazione: La storia della Film Commission Regione Campania (FCRC) inizia nel 2004, quando la Regione Campania la crea per promuovere e sostenere l’industria cinematografica e audiovisiva nella regione. Birth and Transformation: The story of the Film Commission Regione Campania (FCRC) began in 2004 when the Campania Region established it to promote and support the film and audiovisual industry in the region. Operational since the spring of 2005, this institution was later transformed into a Foundation in January 2014.

Sinossi:

Aura Sala è nata nel 1994 a Bellcaire d’Empordà, una piccola cittadina di Girona. Dopo la laurea in Biologia Ambientale, ha studiato alla Scuola Superiore di Cinema e Audiovisivo della Catalogna (ESCAC), mostrando particolare interesse per la regia. Lì ha realizzato il suo primo cortometraggio con radici politiche e di denuncia, “Dissident” (2020), e la sua preoccupazione per quelle storie che erano intimamente radicate e coinvolte nella realtà sociale del suo ambiente ha cominciato a risvegliarsi. Aura Sala was born in 1994 in Bellcaire d’Empordà, a small town in Girona. After graduating in Environmental Biology, he studied at the Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisual of Catalonia (ESCAC), showing particular interest in directing. Sinossi:

Daniel e il suo migliore amico Franco vanno in campeggio in Patagonia, ma quando il loro zaino e la tenda cadono da un dirupo sono costretti a cercare riparo. Oltrepassano una cabina vuota e festeggiano i loro ultimi giorni insieme prima che il college li separi. Daniel deve ancora fare chiarezza sui suoi sentimenti per Franco e la mattina dopo si sveglia da solo, lo cerca e lo trova in mezzo alla campagna, con una caviglia slogata e lo zaino a cui avevano rinunciato. Mentre fa guarigioni al piede, Daniel affronta Franco riguardo al suo futuro studio lontano da casa, ma lui insiste sulla sua necessità di andarsene. Per dimenticare la faccenda, Franco propone un segno per ricordare il loro viaggio e la loro amicizia: un taglio sulle sopracciglia. La vicinanza del momento crea tensione tra loro, e quando i loro volti stanno per incontrarsi, arrivano i proprietari della cabina. Fuggono in modo irregolare tra le urla e una volta lontani da loro, Daniel bacia Franco, lo ricambia… finché non si rende conto di cosa stanno facendo. Come due sconosciuti, Daniel e Franco concludono il loro viaggio senza dire una parola. Una macchina li va a prendere mentre fanno l’autostop, dietro Daniel lancia un’occhiata a Franco ma lui non ricambia lo sguardo. È troppo tardi.

Il corto è stato selezionato per oltre trenta festival, e ha vinto quattro premi: 2023 ARFF PARIS INTERNATIONAL AWARDS (2024), FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE LEBU (2022), FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE RENGO (2022) e CINE EN GRANDE – FESTIVAL DE CINE NACIONAL EN TIERRA DEL FUEGO.

Synopsis:

Daniel and his best friend Franco go camping in Patagonia, but when their backpack and tent fall off a cliff they are forced to seek shelter. They pass an empty cabin and celebrate their last days together before college parts them. Daniel has yet to clarify his feelings for Franco and the next morning he wakes up alone, looks for him and finds him in the middle of the countryside, with a sprained ankle and the backpack they had given up on. While healing his foot, Daniel confronts Franco about his future practice away from home, but he insists on his need to leave. To forget the matter, Franco suggests a sign to remember their journey and their friendship: a cut on the eyebrows. The closeness of the moment creates tension between them, and when their faces are about to meet, the owners of the cabin arrive. They flee erratically amidst the screams and once away from them, Daniel kisses Franco, kisses him back… until he realizes what they are doing. Like two strangers, Daniel and Franco end their journey without saying a word. A car picks them up while they are hitchhiking, behind Daniel glances at Franco but he doesn’t return the look. It’s too late.

The short was selected for over thirty festivals, and won four awards: 2023 ARFF PARIS INTERNATIONAL AWARDS (2024), FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE LEBU (2022), FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE RENGO (2022) and CINE EN GRANDE – FESTIVAL DE CINE NACIONAL EN TIERRA DEL FUEGO.

Marc, dopo aver ricevuto diversi commenti razzisti e piuma-fobici da un’app di incontri gay, riceve un messaggio dal suo amico transessuale Cacao che lo invita ad una sala da ballo. Marc decide di andare, lì rimane sorpreso dalla libertà e dalla diversità dell’ambiente. Giunta al bar locale, scambia uno sguardo con Leo, un ragazzo attraente. Dopo aver visto la sua amica camminare, i due hanno una conversazione intima in cui Cacao incoraggia Marc a camminare quella notte. Una volta arrivata la categoria Catboy Sex Siren, Leo va a fare una passeggiata mentre Marc osserva la situazione con un misto di desiderio e dubbio.

Cristian Sitjas è un regista barcellonese che ha sviluppato la sua carriera a Barcellona. Dopo aver iniziato gli studi all’EMAV, ha completato il master in Direzione Artistica presso l’ESCAC dove ha ricevuto una borsa di studio dalla scuola stessa per completare il master in Direzione. Durante questo periodo scrive e dirige i cortometraggi: Violeta, Placebo e La muerte de Oso. Tutti sono stati presentati in anteprima a festival cinematografici nazionali e internazionali. Nel frattempo, stava completando il Master in Sceneggiatura cinematografica presso la scuola Showrunners Bcn dove ha scritto la sua prima sceneggiatura per un lungometraggio. Parallelamente ai suoi studi, ha lavorato come secondo e terzo assistente alla regia in film come Sinjar, diretto da Anna M. Bofarull e interpretato da Nora Navas, o The Mother con Jennifer Lopez. Synopsis:

Marc, after receiving several racist and feather-phobic comments from a gay dating app, receives a message from his transsexual friend Cacao inviting him to a dance hall. Cristian Sitjas is a director from Barcelona who developed his career in Barcelona. After starting his studies at EMAV, he completed his master’s degree in Art Direction at ESCAC where he received a scholarship from the school itself to complete his master’s degree in Direction. During this period he wrote and directed the short films: Violeta, Placebo and La muerte de Oso. All have premiered at national and international film festivals.
